Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information DepMax (operated by Baygus, in Alberta, Canada) collects, why, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to sell and support our software.
1. Information we collect
- Account & contact data — your name and email address, provided by you or through checkout.
- Payment data — payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects and handles your card details; we receive limited information such as the last four digits, card brand, billing country, a customer/subscription identifier, and payment status. We do not store your full card number.
- License & activation data — to issue and validate licenses we process your license key, a hardware/machine identifier (HWID) for the device you activate, and activation timestamps and IP addresses.
- Technical & log data — server and application logs may record IP addresses, request times, user-agent, and error information for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
- Communications — messages you send us by email or Discord.
2. How we use your information
- to provide, activate, validate, and support your licenses and the Software;
- to process payments, subscriptions, renewals, and refunds through Stripe;
- to communicate with you about your account, purchases, and support requests, and to send service or billing notices;
- to secure our services, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms and EULA;
- to comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We rely on the legal bases of performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing the business, your consent (where applicable), and compliance with law.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf, including Stripe (payments) and our hosting/infrastructure provider (to run the website and licensing servers);
- Authorities or others where required by law, to comply with legal process, or to protect our rights, users, or the public;
- A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
4. International transfers
We and our providers may process and store data in Canada, the United States, and other countries. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected consistent with this Policy and applicable law.
5. Data retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Offerings, maintain your licenses, comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under Canada’s PIPEDA or the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@depmax.net. We may need to verify your identity, and some data must be retained where the law requires. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including transport encryption (HTTPS) and restricting access to data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Cookies
Our storefront aims to use only what is necessary to operate. Our payment provider (Stripe) may set cookies or use similar technologies to process payments and prevent fraud; those are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy.
9. Children
The Offerings are intended for adults operating their own services and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes & contact
We may update this Policy from time to time and will revise the “Last updated” date above. For any privacy question or request, contact support@depmax.net.
